There are so many men’s fragrances available now that its very difficult to choose which one is best for your

beloved. Not only the fragrances themselves but also lotions, powders, body splashes which fill the shelves

along with the perfumes, the colognes the aftershaves.

Finding the men’s fragrance that compliments the personality and taste of the gentleman is a task indeed if you have no idea what they really like to begin with. Here are some factors to take into account that will hopefully make the task a little easier for you.

When choosing from the many men’s fragrances available think first about your partner. What does he enjoy doing regularly? Does he enjoy walking by the sea smelling the ocean breeze? If so, it would probably be a good idea to match this with a perfume that has some similar oceanic fragrance. If he enjoys walking in the woods between the trees, then maybe he would prefer a fragrance with woody undertones. You see where I’m going with this, right? Lets dig a little deeper here.

There are six main perfume categories. As you read through consider what your man enjoys and try to relate them to any of the following categories.

1. Oceanic: as the name suggests – think “sea breeze and salty freshness”.

2. Fruity: various fruits used to provide a spicy, fresh smell. Yummy!

3. Oriental: opulence and muskiness together, with some flowery and spicey undertones. Sexy and exotic.

4. Woody: freshly crushed leaves and bark, to provide that fresh, foresty sense.

5. Floral: romantic and cheerful where the flower has a dominant role to play.

6. Green: full of energy and freshness which appeals to those who love the outdoors.

From these you have to decide what is the key one or two to match your partners character, or for that matter you may wish to bring out something new in him, and why not! Say for example your man sees himself as butch and tough, but you would be happy to see more of his softer side at least at times. Why not try the floral flavors.

When he tries it for the first time be sure to make him feel attractive but still tough, even with his new fragrance which may seem to soften his character that little bit. No bad thing perhaps.

At the same time, its got to be a fragrance that appeals to you too, so do keep this in mind. After all, I suspect you will be spending a lot of time together and as such the fragrance that you choose for him has also to be good for you too. So its wise to be a little selfish in that department. Why not after all, you are the best thing for him, aren’t you?
