Is it OK to give a perfume as a Christmas gift that is BNIB (brand new in box)?

Someone bought a shipment of discounted perfumes a department store, which was out of business. They were out of the box and some were missing lids. The majority were unused tester bottles. Is either give these to family for gifts? I guess there's a reason why Ebay items are BNIB sell at a higher price.

Which would lids (regardless of the cracked or not) as a gift. I'd find a box to put in which has a beautiful lining and then claim the break previous fall out of the car! The peaks that without coming across this cheap and nasty and do not win you any favors. KD
