How do I choose a perfume for myself?

There are so many perfumes to choose from.
Do you have any tips on how to choose the best scent for me, without going and smelling each and every bottle? Thanks.

My advice is to head to a Guerlain boutique (try hitting up a Neiman Marcus or Saks – they’re usually located inside of those stores in the U.S.) and tell them what you’re looking for. They’ll ask you questions about your prior tastes and show you perfumes that will help you understand what notes and fragrance types you enjoy most. Then they’ll offer you perfumes within that range.

They have so many to choose from, and all of their scents smell very expensive and high-quality. I’ve yet to meet a Guerlain perfume I don’t at least admire, and they have many to choose from, so you’re bound to find something you like. They offer class, quality, and, in my experience, the best and most-qualified sales associates around. The prices range from under $60 to over $200, but unless you’re buying something very exclusive, you won’t pay any more than you would at Sephora or a department store counter. Unlike popular perfumes from fashion houses, Guerlain is an actual perfumerie, and they know what they’re talking about – they’ll help you find something you’ll love and not just try to sell you the latest launch.
