Laws for redistributing a product?
There’s a product that I’d like to redistribute. I can buy in bulk, and I want to package it differently and offer it in different quantities, marketed for a different use.
What are the laws against this? What if have 2 products, each from diff. manufacturers, that I want to combine to make one? Do i have to get the permission from each company before I sell these as my own?
(i.e., think fragrance free soap from one co. bought in bulk, perfume from another in bulk, and then sold as perfume soaps)

No, it’s done all the time. It’s a form of “value added resale” (VAR), as long as you do not use the original trademark on the item, or try to market the identical product as “your own”, you can buy and combine any number of products into a new one. If you’re re-packaging the identical product, you have to watch out for “passing off” their product as yours, which would be a trademark violation and unfair competition, unless you obtain a VAR license.
For example, you could sell your own branded product that includes a basket full of labeled products without permission from any of the brand owners on those labels. You could also mix two or more products and put them into your own packaging with no obligation to even mention, let alone pay or get permission from, any of the component owners. If you’re just tearing off or covering the label with your own, you would need a VAR license.
There are other exceptions, such as heavily regulated industries such as pharmacy and things that “go bang”, or things that have export or import controls imposed on them. You would need licenses for re-combination/re-label of those sorts of things.
