How do you remove the smell of perfume from clothing?

I bought several pairs of pants from a thrift store and all had been sprayed with something like Febreeze and were permeated with the smell of perfume. I have already tried washing them once but the smell is still there. Do you know of anything I can add to the wash water to neutralize the smell? Any other suggestions?

Try a cup of vinegar in the rinse water. Then hang them outside if possible.
