How is solvent extraction of beeswax done? I am trying to make some beeswax absolute. ?
I have a large amount of beeswax, I am trying to produce beeswax absolute with it. Beeswax absolute is made by solvent extraction. So my question is how do I do this? Do I just grind up the beeswax and mix it with a solvent? What type of solvent do I need? Alcohol? If so, what type of alchol?

Solvent extraction is extraction (removal) of something with a solvent. I don’t know what you are trying to remove from the beeswax so can’t pick the best solvent to use, but basically you would dissolve the beeswax in the solvent ( you will need to heat to melt the wax) filter or separate off any solids or liquid layers that separate out. Then evapourate off the solvent to leave the beeswax behind. Probably can use isopropanol or ethyl acetate etc. WARNING these are FLAMMABLE!
