getting rid perfume smell
How can I get rid of the smell of urine on my carpet?

I have a pet who urinated over a carpeted area and a child who did the same thing. I have tried to get rid of the smell by pouring laundry detergent over the area, and spraying it with heavy perfume. Nothing seems to work. The smell is still there.

Vinegar and Baking Soda – First soak up as much of the urine as you can, then soak the area with a mixture of 1/3 cup of white vinegar with 2/3 cup of water and a little soap. With a clean rag, soak up any excess liquid pressing firmly and repeatedly until dry. Repeat this process using fresh water, and then use another rag to soak up the remaining liquid. After this, sprinkle some baking soda on the area and vacuum up in 24 hours. I’d then put a little more baking soda because the pet will come back to the same spot. You may have to repeat the process and use a bit of laundry detergent, sounds like the bacteria or deep and working hard.
