What are your kids asking for this Christmas? Is it too much?

My kids, 13 and 9 are asking for such expensive things. My 13 year old wants a sidekick 3, Uggs boots, North Face jacket, a video game, perfume and a coach bag (it would have to be a fake one). My son wants a MP3 player, games for his PSP, Nintendo Lite DS, games for that and a pair of Heely’s. Is this too much? I need another job just to pay for those things. Name the things your kids want and what you plan on getting and not. Thanks

My stepsons are that way. Their mom’s family has the $$$$$$ so they are always getting the expensive stuff. Two years ago when we got an “is this all we get?” from them, I had had enough!!!! We do not compete anymore and get them what we we feel they need.
My four year old, of all things is asking for a rocking horse!!! Go figure!!!
I hope this helps…..I have told this in other answers, but, with my older kids who are grown now, I always gave them 3 gifts because that is what Jesus got. 1 big one that they wanted, 1 medium needed item like clothes or shoes and one fun item like a game or movie, etc. It helped keep a proper perspective on being thankful for what they had. I do the same with my 4 yr old and will with my 4 mo old too.
As for my stepsons, I hope we can set some sort of example for them or they will never be satisfied when life gets REAL.

It also helps them to appreciate if you can get them involved in some sort of charity like Angel Tree or Samaritans Purse or Toys for Tots.
