Fresh, French perfume in an aluminum bottle, from a Marine?

I dated a Marine years ago. When he came back from tour in France he said he visited a Perfumery (whatever) and brought me some wonderful perfume in an aluminum bottle he said that kept it fresher that way. You had to break the seal on the top, and it really wasn’t made to be kept in the bottle, just to keep it fresh until opened.

Years later, I can’t remeber anything about where he bought it or the name of the perfume. has anyone ever had a Marine or Squid that went on tour and visited a perfumery that knows anything about the Perfumery or type of perfume? i have NO clue what city or anything.

As well as Jean-Paul Gaultier, who is relatively modern, quite a few parfumiers present their perfumes in metal bottles or boxes.The earlier ones to do so were Guerlain, Givenchy and Coty and this would be more likely to be those you are referring to since you mention ” years ago”.
The problem may be that the perfume you are looking for may have been discontinued. I had one that was exquisite and came in a metal container but it has not been on sale for over twenty years.
