What are the most classic time honored mens colognes?

I know , channel, patou and aperege are the classics for womens perfumes…what are the class acts of mens colognes ?

Polo by Ralph Lauren, Gendarme, Grey Flannel, Vetiver by Creed, Givenchy Gentleman, Canoe by Dana are the ones that most come to mind for me when I think of classic men’s colognes that have stood the test of time. Vetiver has been around since the late nineteenth century, Canoe has been around since the 1930′s, Polo has been around since the early 80′s, Givenchy Gentleman has been around since the 60′s as has Grey Flannel, and Gendarme has been around since the late 80′s early 90′s. Polo is the strongest scent and Gendarme is the lightest and cleanest. All the rest fall somewhere in between.
